Every single Bicicletta Dannata, resurrected from a state of abandon has a story to tell.

The history of the elements that constitute each Dannata are what moulds their soul. The many memories of the people that have owned them and then passed them down is told by their imperfections, dents and rust. These are the foundations for the creation of new bicycles that tell the heroic history of Italy and of the characters that will shape it.

Original second-hand parts combined with newer modern parts guarantee that every bike works perfectly.

Tradition and desire to manually rework objects is re-discovered and creative and aesthetic value are added in the process.

Research, technique and design make unique bicycles, built with parts made unique by the transition of time.

The bicycle lived its golden age in Italy in the first half of the 20th century, thanks to technical perfection and wide diffusion. The refined virtuosity and the excellent manufacture mark both the blazoned industrial brands like Bianchi, Dei and Maino, both the myriad of small handcraft laboratories spread all around the country.

Street markets, car deposits, barns and basements become the doors to a past too often forgotten and set aside, considered obsolete and of no value.

The challenge of Bicicletta Dannata is to give a new life to this patrimony made of romanticism and timeless technologies, renewing it and letting it ride on our roads again.

The project and the approach to each new creation is influenced by the historical value and by the mechanical condition of the frame. The original paint, when still present, is preserved on higher quality bicycles and eliminated on frames which have less value. For these last ones the next phase is forced aging, a technique totally removes of the paint a controls the oxidation process.

The breaking system applied is the free wheel back pedal, still very common in northern Europe. Safe, easy to use and to maintain, keeping it minimal in design.

The real value of the bicycle resides in the purity of the lines and in the craftmanship of the basic elements, not in its accessories.

The selection of the basic mechanical elements is based on the peculiarity of each frame, and then tailored to fit. Handlebars, seats, movements and pedals are recovered and renovated together with wheels and minor mechanical parts, and when combined with newly made elements guarantee a perfectly working bicycle.

. A composition that designs the shape of each Dannata, defining its features, aesthetics and personality. This is where unique bikes come from, their timeless characters predominating not their parts.
